[00:00:05.01] - Dr. Fadi Hasan When do our patients need tooth extractions? Usually, if the tooth is at a stage of its life that it is terminal. In other words, we can say if you want to use that word, and it's ready to be removed and hopefully replaced with a potential future implant down the road. Sometimes it can be periodontally hopeless. It might be there's maybe too much decay going on. Failed previous root canal therapy that's been performed on it to sustain the longevity of the tooth. [00:00:32.17] - Dr. Fadi Hasan Usually those are the situations where our teeth might need to be extracted, possibly also due to trauma is another really common reason why we get to see our patients for teeth that needs to be extracted as well. Other cause situations for extractions is you have your wisdom teeth that might need to… Where we have our patients, we put them to sleep, and then we can perform these procedures under sedation just from a comfort level point of view, and we get to remove their wisdom teeth. [00:00:57.00] - Dr. Fadi Hasan For our consultations, the first thing we'd like to do is to make sure that patients, we have all the information from our referrals in case they were referred, that includes x-rays and so on. During the consultation process, we'll have a chance to really look at their mouth very thoroughly, intraorally, to see what their periodontal status is, what their overall tooth status is as well, and hopefully we can understand what their short and long term goal is, and then we can, at the end of the day, we will come up with a plan. Hopefully that suits their overall dental needs, and we can provide that for them at the best level of care possible.
